Brian Lee will be leading us as he continues his sermon series titled "Signs of Soul Distress." Included in our time of worship will be a Sanctuary Choir and Orchestra presentation of "Trust His Heart" and the Orchestra offertory "Like a River Glorious." At a designated time during the Morning Worship Service, FOURS will be guided to Preschool Worship; children in Kindergarten through Grade 3 will be invited to the Music Hall for Kids in Christ worship.

A Huge Nicaraguan "Thank You"

A team of 18 wonderful individuals returned from Nicaragua this past Friday. To say the trip was a wonderful experience for all would be an understatement. Many lives were touched and changed as we had the privilege to serve men, women, boys, and girls in Nicaragua. The team was truly the hands and feet of Christ to everyone they encountered. Thank you to all of Shades Crest for the countless ways you supported this trip. Your prayers, donations, financial contributions, and so much more are what helped to make the trip a success. As the "home team" you hit a grand slam in all the ways you helped to make this trip possible. Below is a bit of a recap from the trip. If you would like to see and know more, there is a Facebook page dedicated specifically to this trip. The name of the page is "Shades Crest in Nicaragua". Go "like" the page and you will see lots of photos and videos from the trip.

Specific Ministry Activities:

  • Fed more than 200 children in the villages of Kilombo and La Palmera
  • Packed and delivered 50 food packs in the village of Paso Real
  • Worked with 31 girls at a home for abused girls
  • Built and provided a home for two families in the village of Hugo Chavez
  • Handed out all of the dresses made by Threads of Care
  • Distributed more than 400 bowls and spoons
  • Worshiped with two different congregations
  • Served and taught 12 men and women in the Proverbs:31 Sewing School
  • Took 12 men and women grocery shopping
  • Provided clothing, shoes, and flip-flops for men, women, and children
  • Handed out more than 400 hygiene bags
  • Distributed salvation bracelets made by the children of Shades Crest
  • Delivered bags of crayons and notepads assembled by the preschoolers of Shades Crest

And so much more...

New Shades Crest T-Shirts

It's time for a new Shades Crest T-shirt! With a new church logo and a new church mission statement, a T-Shirt is a wonderful way to share more about our church with our community. Shirts will be available in children and adult sizes and include sizes from Youth Small up to Adult 3XL. Stay tuned for a church-wide email with ordering information.

We will meet on the third Thursday, October 20 at 11:30 in the Fellowship Hall and enjoy a covered dish lunch followed by a great program presented by R.V. Simmons.
